This toy is available in three silicone firmness levels:

Extra Soft
The most give. Squashes easily under your weight and cushions the texture, so it's the gentlest of the three.

Soft
Still plenty of give, but the tentacle holds its shape more, so the texture comes through more clearly.

Medium
Very firm. Only pick this one if you know you like really firm clitoral stimulation, it's a lot for most people and there's no softening it once it's poured.

Not sure? Go Extra Soft or Soft.
If you're grinding hard or a partner is adding pressure on top, Extra Soft is the safer bet.

1. If you've gone for the bullet upgrade, slide the bullet into the cavity in the base first, before you strap anything down. It can be a snug fit the first time, that's intentional, it stops it rattling around.

2. Secure the grinder to a pillow, cushion, chair or a partner's thigh using the included straps. Make sure it is firmly positioned and won't shift during use.

3. Apply water-based lubricant to the textured surface and to yourself. This reduces friction and lets the texture glide rather than drag.

4. Straddle the grinder and lower yourself into a comfortable position. Take a moment to work out where you actually want the tentacle sitting.

5. If you're using the bullet, start it on a low speed and adjust from there.

6. Begin to move slowly. Grind, rock, roll or bounce to find the angle and pressure that works for you.

7. Adjust as you go. Small changes in position make a surprising difference on a shape like this.

8. When finished, remove the bullet if you used one. Clean the grinder with warm soapy water or a suitable toy cleaner, then allow it to dry fully before storing.

• Give the first session a bit of patience, most people need a go or two to find their spot on a textured grinder
• Slow down. The shape and the finer texture both need a moment to register, rushing turns them into one blur
• Rock your hips to move your body up and down the tentacle rather than staying in one spot
• Use your body weight to control how hard the texture presses back
• Mount it on something with a bit of resistance, a firm cushion beats a duvet
• If you have the bullet, try it both on and off, they're genuinely different experiences
• Top up the lube before it starts dragging rather than after

A flat pad or a raised mound will get you there, and there's a reason so many grinders are built that way. They're simple, they're intuitive and they work. We wanted to find out what happened if the shape itself did more of the work.

So the tentacle became the toy. It arcs over the coffin, thick through the middle and tapering away, and you rock along the length of it. The pressure changes as you go because the shape changes, and the tendrils and ridges between the suckers add a finer texture over the top of that. It's something to grind against rather than something to grind on.

The Coffin Grinder came from Odyssey, our darker sister brand, where it was built around a tentacle claiming a coffin at the tide line. We're bringing it over for spooky season because it's a genuinely stunning object. It's practically a diorama, right down to the wet stone and scattered debris around the base, and every bit of that sculpting still earns its place as something you get off on.

Adding the bullet cavity underneath the texture was the other half of it. Vibration and texture usually compete for the same bit of surface. Here the bullet sits below the tentacle and pushes up through it, so you get both at once instead of choosing.

Cleaning & Care

• Allow to air-dry completely before storing
• For deeper cleaning, toys without electronics may be boiled for 3–5 minutes (if size and design allow)

• Store in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight
• Keep separate from other silicone toys to prevent surface interaction
• Use a fabric pouch or original packaging where possible

Does it vibrate?
Not on its own. As standard it's a plain grinder and everything comes from movement, pressure and rhythm. Add the bullet upgrade and it does.

What do I get with the bullet upgrade?
We build a cavity into the base while we're casting it, and a 7-speed bullet vibrator comes with it. The bullet sits just underneath the tentacle texture, so the vibration comes up through the surface you're grinding on.

Can I take the bullet out?
Yes. It comes out for cleaning, or to use on its own.

Can I add the cavity later?
No, sorry. It's formed during casting, so it has to be decided when you order.

Is anything insertable?
No. This one is purely external, it's all about what you grind against.

Does it actually stay put?
Yes. The straps secure it to a pillow, cushion, chair or a partner's thigh so it isn't wandering off mid-grind.

Is it beginner-friendly?
Very. Strap-down grinders are about as intuitive as toys get, you're in charge of everything. Expect to spend your first session working out where you want it, that's normal on a shaped grinder.

Which firmness should I pick?
Extra Soft or Soft for most people. Medium is very firm and only worth it if you already know you like really firm clitoral stimulation.

Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Close, but not identical. Every one is poured by hand, so colour placement shifts a little from toy to toy. That's the point of handmade, it never affects safety or how it works.

Take the bullet out first, then warm water and mild soap or a toy cleaner. Work into the texture where lube likes to hide, then let it dry fully before you put it away.
